Ian Rank-Broadley's definitive effigy of Elizabeth II is found on the obverse of 2015-dated Silver Kookaburra's. This 25th anniversary edition includes the mintage year in the obverse effigy, in order to differentiate it from the original 1990 coin: 'AUSTRALIA 2015 · 1 DOLLAR · ELIZABETH II'.

2015 is the only Silver Kookaburra to re-use a reverse design, in this case from 1990. To celebrate the series' 25th anniversary, the original perching kookaburra from 1990 is struck onto this milestone release. The legend reads 'THE AUSTRALIAN KOOKABURRA 1OZ. 999 SILVER' and concludes with a commemoration for the Silver Kookaburra's landmark anniversary: '· 1990 - 2015 ·'.
