Empty 1983-1988 Proof Sovereign Coin Box

These small red leather cases were used by The Royal Mint to package their gold proof Sovereigns between 1983 and 1988.

Sold without the coin, capsule or certificates of authenticity, these display boxes are popular for their compact size. They feature gold lettering to the lid, a press closure and a red velvet-lined interior with The Royal Mint's historic logo printed to the interior of the lid.
