Buy a 1972 20 Balboas Silver Proof

Large sterling silver proof 1972 20 Balboas Panamanian coin from the first year of issue. When they were struck, these 129.59 grams coins were the world's largest legal tender silver coins. They are a commemorative issue, produced by the Franklin Mint and offered in a fitted card case with a dated certificate. The 1972 proof strike features a portrait of South American politician and military leader Simon Bolivar to one side. The other features the coat of arms of Panama and the denomination. The Balboa is one of the official currencies of Panama, alongside the United States Dollar and takes its name from the Spanish conquistador, Vasco Núñez de Balboa. 20 Balboas were minted annually between 1972 and 1976 in proof and matt finishes. Our pre-owned 20 Balboa coins from 1972 are in good condition for older 925 silver coins, as represented by the images on this page.
