Jane Austen 2017 UK £2 Gold Proof Coin
In 2017, the Royal Mint released a very limited issue Jane Austen £2 (Two Pound) gold proof coin, struck in solid 22 Carat Gold. It was to commemorate the 200th Anniversary of the Death of Jane Austen.
The reverse features a portrait of Jane Austen, one of the best loved English Novelists. The obverse depict Jody Clark's Fifth Portrait of Queen Elizabeth II.
These legal tender coins have been struck to proof quality using specially prepared dies and highly polished blanks.
