1978 UK Proof Annual 6 Coin Set

1978 Annual Set Proof Base Metal Boxed
Is 1978 a special year for you? Perhaps you remember the opening of Liverpool’s cathedral or the release of the ever-popular Grease. Commemorate the date with a six coin UK proof annual set from The Royal Mint, offered in its original presentation packaging. These collectible sets include definitive editions of the UK coinage that was put into circulation in this year, minted to impeccable proof standard. Proof coins are struck multiple times with hand finished dies for a superior finish that shows more detail than the coins you find in your change. This set includes a Fifty Pence piece, a Ten Pence piece, a Five Pence piece, a Two Pence piece, a One Pence piece and a Halfpenny. These coins are all dated 1978 and feature Arnold Machin’s second official coinage portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II to the obverse. In 1978, annual proof sets were offered in a grey-beige card envelope with embossed silver lettering to the front. The coins were enclosed in a protective clear slab which enables the owner to view both sides of each piece without unnecessary handling. You may find that the coins you receive display some toning. This is typical of these annual sets, more than four decades after they were initially issued.
