'Wreath' Crowns are UK silver coins minted in very limited numbers between 1927 and 1936. Sometimes known as 'Christmas Crowns', these coins were intended as seasonal gifts for VIP clients of the Bank of England. These collectable coins take their name from their distinctive reverse design.

1929 Wreath Crown Obverse
The portrait of George V that is shown on the obverse of this 1929 Crown is the work of Bertram Mackennal, whose initials appear on the truncation of the King's neck. The inscription reads 'GEORGIVS V DEI GRA: BRITT: OMN: REX'.
Reverse Of 1929 Wreath Crown
The reverse of the 1929 Wreath Crown is the work of English artist George Kruger Gray and features a royal crown at the centre of a wreath made of uo if shamroks, thistles and roses with the date (1929) inside, the words 'FID · · DEF · · IND · · IMP' above and 'CROWN' divided below.
