A superb Crown of king George the First dated 1720 with the overdate 20 over 18, and a further variant of 'j-type 1' and 'Z-type 7', and faint 2 over 2 all in the date. The obverse features the laureate bust wearing armour of the king facing right, the reverse shows the crowned royal shields in a cruciform pattern, representing England and Scotland combined with France, Ireland and the Hanover arms, two of each, of the larger roses and plumes are seen in the angles, the edge has the regnal year of 'SEXTO'. This Crown of exactly 300 years of age with a numismatic interesting variant of an overdate will make a great addition to any collection.
