A collectable hammered silver Threepence of Queen Elizabeth the First with a Pheon mint mark and the date 1561. From Elizabeth’s third/fourth issue, struck at the Tower mint in London. The obverse features the crowned bust of the queen facing left with a Tudor rose behind. Smaller flan with inner circle measuring 14 millimetres. The reverse shows a fourchee long cross quartering a shield of royal arms with the date above the flat top of the shield. Spink 2565.

F - A mid tone on a full flan with very clear legends and bust details, shield a little weak in areas but otherwise all Fine, in areas better.
