Ian Rank-Broadley's fourth definitive coinage portrait of the late Queen Elizabeth II features on the obverse of this gold proof Two Pound coin with an inscription around the edge which reads 'ELIZABETH · II · DEI · GRA · REG · FID · DEF ·'
The reverse of the Trinity House Two Pound was designed by Joe Whitlock Blundell and David Eccles and features a lighthouse lamp shining out into a dark night. The anniversary dates (1514 and 2014) are displayed on either side with 'TRINITY HOUSE' above and 'TWO POUNDS' below.
The edge of Trinity House £2 coins features the words 'SERVING THE MARINER'.
Struck in 15.97 grams of 22-carat gold, this Trinity House £2 features a bimetallic appearance, created with red and yellow-toned gold. The coin is the same size as a standard UK Two Pound but benefits from a precious metal composition and a proof finish.
This gold proof coin is from a limited edition of just 300, released by The Royal Mint in 2014. We are offering this pre-owned, authenticated collectable with the original Royal Mint packaging and a numbered certificate of authenticity.
