Battle Of Trafalgar Anniversary Set 

This 2005 Royal Mint set contains two UK coins, each commemorating the Battle of Trafalgar's 200th anniversary. They are:

  • - 2005 HMS Victory Trafalgar £5 BU 
  • - 2005 Horatio Nelson Trafagar £5 BU 

2005 HMS Victory £5

The reverse of this Battle of Trafalgar coin focuses on the wider conflict itself, in which few ships can boast as large a contribution as the Victory. In this design, by Clive Duncan, Victory is shown in full sail in the midst of battle. Ian Rank-Broadley's effigy of Elizabeth II is struck onto the obverse. 

2005 Horatio Nelson £5 

The second of these Crowns takes a more personal approach, choosing to commemorate Vice Admiral Horatio Nelson on the 200th anniversary of his death. On the reverse, depicted in uniform by James Butler, is Nelson's bust with the significant dates inscribed. The definitive effigy of Elizabeth II complements this on the obverse. 

Trafalgar 200 Years Specification 

This pair of Battle of Trafalgar Crowns are struck to The Royal Mint's brilliant uncirculated quality, each in 28.28 grams of cupronickel alloy. Both measure 38.61 millimetres in diameter and are granted a Five Pound denomination. 

Commemorative Trafalgar Presentation 

The outer slipcase holds two respective presentations, with one coin protectively housed in each. The Royal Mint fully illustrated this presentation alongside profound quotes and extensive historical recounting. This brilliant uncirculated Trafalgar coin set, released exclusively in 2005, is no longer available new and direct from the Mint.
