Strike Your Own Royal Mint Experience Commonwealth Games 50p with rare 'United Kingdom' error on the included folder. Released in a number of collectable finishes in 2022 to celebrate Birmingham's hosting, this Strike Your Own is a special edition. Natasha Preece produced a symmetrical design for the reverse, representing the Games' distinct identity as well the host city's. This is joined by Jody Clark's definitive effigy of Elizabeth II to the obverse, struck to a brilliant uncirculated finish intended for collectors. This 27.30 millimetre Strike Your Own presentation includes a notable error found in the included Royal Mint Experience packaging. Below the 8.00 gram cupronickel 50 Pence reads that the Games were returning to the 'United Kingdom' for the first time in 20 years - forgetting the 2014 Glasgow Games. The Mint quickly amended the error with a full reprint, although rare pre-owned examples such as this still exist. Obtain yours today!

2022 Commonwealth Games Obverse

Featuring Jody Clark's definitive effigy of Elizabeth II. Legend reads: 'ELIZABETH II ·  D ·  G ·  REG ·  F ·  D ·  50 PENCE ·  2022 ·'.

Reverse: Birmingham 2022 Strike Your Own

Designed by Natasha Preece. She uses imagery from Birmingham Library alongside elements of the 2022 Games' logo. The inscription below reads 'BIRMINGHAM 2022 COMMONWEALTH GAMES'.

Specification: Strike Your Own 2022 Games

Struck in 8.00 grams of cupronickel alloy to a brilliant uncirculated standard. This UK Commonwealth Games Fifty Pence also has a 27.30 millimetre diameter.

Royal Mint Presentation: Covered Error

An error in the included folder is a rare mistake from The Royal Mint. The Mint claimed that the United Kingdom hadn't hosted the Commonwealth Games for 20 years. This is untrue due to Glasgow's hosting in 2014. Data suggests only 2,757 of these Commonwealth Games Strike Your Owns were produced. Considerably less will hold the initial factual error within.

Pre-Owned Sporting Strike Your Own

This is a pre-owned BUnc 50p in great condition. The Commonwealth Games Strike Your Own you purchase, which may have a small amount of toning, is reflective in standard to the above stock images.
