A collectable silver Billon Antoninianus of Valerian I struck between the years AD 253 and AD 260 in a debased silver known as Billon. The reverse features valerian and Gallienus facing each other indicating shared rule. Valerian came from good roman family and held many offices he was immediately proclaimed emperor by his troops on the  death of Gallus in AD 253, His reign was somewhat troubled with war against the Persians and in Ad 260 was captured and held prisoner in miserable captivity in Persia for the remainder of his life.
