The coin features Salus seated on a chair feeding a serpent arising from an alter, with the head of the emperor to the reverse. Antoninus Pius was born in AD 86 and reigned in AD 161 with a peaceful and fruitful career with no major wars or battles, he amassed a large surplus for the treasury and created free drinking water across the empire.
