On 5th July 2015, Princess Charlotte, second child of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, was christened at the church of St Mary Magdalene on the Sandringham Estate. To mark this special event, The Royal Mint released a commemorative Five Pound silver proof coin. This piece echoes the design of coins issued for the christening of Princess Charlotte’s elder brother in that it includes her full name: Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana of Cambridge in a motif surrounded by cherubs. This is the work of engrave John Bergdahl and is paired with Jody Clark’s portrait of Charlotte’s great-grandmother, Elizabeth II. This coin is from a limited edition presentation of 4,500 and is struck in 28.28 grams of 925 sterling silver. Offered in its original packaging from The Royal Mint with a numbered certificate of authenticity.
